You are welcome to attend any of our Cancer Outreach meetings.  They're held in the home economics room the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.  There will be a time of sharing prayer requests and concerns.  Then we'll join together in prayer.  You'll hear an encouraging, inspiring  message and enjoy good music.  Our great cooks will bring their best dishes and the fun and fellowship will certainly be a blessing to you.

Upcoming Meetings:  9/11, 10/2, 11/16, 12/4

Nutrition Tips: Figs and pears are a great combination for a fruit crisp. A topping with nuts, flax, and oats adds extra fiber and omega 3!

Please be in special prayer for Robbie Jones who is the caretaker at Gospel Light Church Camp. He is ready for his kidney transplant but must obtain a secondary insurance before he can be admitted to receive it. The insurance that he has checked on is going to cost him one thousand dollars a month. Donations are being collected at the noted website: or check with Jamie Hicks.

We Can Have Victory Through Trials!

Paul and Silas were telling people about Jesus and salvation. Some of the people were offended and the rulers arrested, beat them, and put them in prison. They were praising God while in jail. Amazingly an earthquake came and opened the prison doors that night.

Acts 16:27-31, 34  And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. 28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

God can change what we consider a bad situation into a spiritual growth event. We should not get angry with God when health issues come to us. Our spiritual self and trust in God can increase and we can help others! Christians have victory with life and death.

I Corinthians 15:51-54b Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54b . . . Death is swallowed up in victory.
